Did you miss Robbie Burns night? Are you looking forward to St. Patrick's Day? How about some Celtic flavoured music with some singalongs to get your fix? Leah Williams and Mark Dowding would be happy to oblige. So, you have gathered that we can gather again at the Gathering Place!!! Let's hope we can keep this on a roll through May and beyond. In the near future, Leigh Square will be getting a make-over so you may have to find parking further away for a while. Sorry about that.
We are cancelling Coffeehouses effective March 12 forward.
At 8pm on Wednesday evening, March 11, we got this from Dr. Bonnie Henry, BC’s chief health officer —
She advised people to take individual risk assessments, recommending people increase their distance to others, think carefully about attending large group events, wash their hands regularly and stay away from others when they suspect they might be falling ill.
“This is not forever. This is for the coming weeks. The coming weeks where we know we have to do everything we can to prevent transmission of infection in our communities, protect those people that are more likely to have severe illness, and particularly our seniors and elders,” she said.
The general situation has changed even from this morning. We will take this new advice and be more cautious.
So it is with regret, an abundance of caution and respect for our elderly audience and performers, that yes, we will have to cancel the Coffeehouse events for now. We will, of course, let you know when we’ll resume.
We will continue to watch for the signs when we can all gather again and have a good musical time!
